Grammar and Punctuation
English grammar is often an Achilles’ heel for Danes with an otherwise very high level of communication skills. It is not uncommon for fluent and eloquent speakers of English to lack an understanding of even very basic English grammar, syntax and structure and this weakness is quickly revealed in written English or can become apparent during longer conversations or meetings.
BLS can and does certainly offer comprehensive grammar courses introducing you to terminology, rules, structures, common pitfalls and punctuation. However, in our experience, what most people request and require is a brush-up focussing on their specific weaknesses and mistakes. In this case, we try to keep things as simple as possible, avoid complex terminology and teach through example to correct your repeated errors. Most importantly, we are strong believers in instinct – you can communicate in your own language without understanding all the ins and outs of its grammatical structure and if your instincts also serve you well in certain areas of English, then we will leave those parts well alone and simply deal with the elements where your instinct unfortunately lets you down.
