Evening event: Outing to Frederiksborg Castle Gardens (Frederiksborg Slotshave), Hillerød

Join us for a stroll around Frederiksborg Castle Gardens (Frederiksborg Slotshave). The gardens were created in the years 720-25 and since then have undergone various developments influenced by garden styles from various historical periods.  In 1996 after extensive work, the gardens were restored to their original form – a baroque garden on the plateaus in front of Frederiksborg Castle.

We will explore the garden’s many interesting details (e.g. bosquets and zink statues) and establish their place in the history of the garden, and in Danish gardening and general culture.  During the outing we will also view the more romantic part on the west side of the garden.
